THINGS TO DO
Uganda is a bio-diverse country, popular for its wildlife and memorable for its culture of warmth and hospitality. Paying a visit to the pearl of Africa could end up changing your view of home. If you're arriving into the country by air, you'll land at Entebbe airport, near Lake Victoria. Within an hour, you'll have arrived at the clean, safe and secure, Modest Inn on Mawanda Road. Our 24hr reception desk is available to provide assistance and ensure that you settle in. When you're ready to explore, you can call an Uber, grab a SafeBoda, or walk to any of the attractions in the area. The inn is conveniently located 10 minutes from Uganda Museum and Acacia Mall; and 15 minutes from Mulago Specialised Women & Neonatal Hospital and Mulago National Referral Hospital. Traffic in the city can discourage most plans so it helps that you'll be staying close to the action in Kololo, Nakasero and Naguru as there are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants to keep you entertained. We also offer a volunteering experience a little off the beaten path in Nabutakka. If you're interested in learning about permaculture while sharing your own knowledge about sustainable communities, we could use your help at the Eco Cottage Commons on a small scale agritourism project. Naturally, a visit to Uganda entails a trip to the Source of the Nile in Jinja. You can arrange a day trip or make a weekend of it since Jinja tends to host a number of exciting activities like the Nile River and Nyege Nyege Festivals. To check out the wildlife, you'll have to expand your scope of exploration by visiting the National Parks. Need help tailoring your itinerary? Contact us for one-on-one support.
